How do I find my class assignments? The Lesson Modules provide you with a list of your required reading assignments and notes for each class. If you want to do well in Quantum Physics, you must make sure that you have read the assigned textbook reading and the class notes. Back to Top
What are my responsibilities? In any successful educational setting, the student has primarily responsibility for his/her learning. This includes coming prepared to participate in class, doing additional reading and reviewing work outside of class, and completing all homework on time. Students who are unprepared for class can not effectively participate in class discussion, board work, and team laboratory or problem solving exercises. Thus, an unprepared student negatively impacts not only their own education but also the education of their fellow class mates. Back to Top
What are the instructors responsibilities? The instructor is the learning facilitator. Using their educational and teaching experience, the instructor facilitates a student's learning through several different mechanisms including the selection of educational resources (textbook, alternative information sources), organization and emphasis of material through class notes and exercises, and intellectual guidance (the asking of questions and the answering of student questions). The facilitator is also responsible for assessing the student's understanding of the material both to aide the facilitator in improving the students learning and for the assignment of grades. In the assignment of grades, the facilitator ensure to State's tax payers, future employers, graduate schools, and other state and national entities the student's understanding and performance in the course. This also maintains the financial worth of degrees obtained by previous students of this institution. Back to Top
What about late homework?Late homework is not accepted without prior approval from the instructor. Back to Top
What will we do in class? The answer to this question depends on the lesson. In some classes, the instructor may cover key concepts, ask students questions, and work problems. In other lessons, students may be required to work problems at the board or do lab work under the instructor's supervision. In all cases, you should expect to be actively involved. Students do not learn physics by watching instead they learn by doing. The notes for class are provided on the web to minimize the amount of time that you spend writing so that you have time to actively participate in class. Back to Top
