Given The Choice
Given the choice I'd rather spend the time at camp,
Than almost anything else;
Get me away from the hustle and bustle,
The telephone and doorbells.
To the amphitheatre, morning devotion,
Spendin' lots of time at the lodge;
Afternoon activities, playin' a lot of ball,
Soft, basket, kick, and dodge.
And given the choice I'd rather spend a week at camp,
Than Disneyworld or Cancun;
All through the spring and summer I keep on thinkin',
The time of camp will be soon.
Goin' to the deep end, step on to the right rocks,
Or they'll slip from your feet;
Doin' the ropes and slides, lookin' for those cold spots;
Hensel swimmin' can't be beat.
And given the choice I'd go to bible class,
And learn about the hand of the Man;
Watch a first class counselor talent show,
Carnac with David and Dan.
Ridin' the roller coaster road into Austin,
Brooke and Nita tell you where to ride;
Meal lady Vicki tells you what we're gonna eat;
Main dish and what's on the side.
And given the choice I'd bring my hammer to camp,
Along with everyone else;
Right handed, left handed, Hammer Handed Hanita,
Eric don't forget the nails.
