Greetings from the Department of Mathematics, Physics, and Engineering. Our department offers a diverse set of undergraduate and graduate programs including unique programs like Hydrology, Environmental Engineering, and an ABET accredited Engineering Physics program that are not typically found at other institutions. We offer a rigorous educational environment centered on student learning with the one-on-one mentoring of a prestigious private institution and the facilities and research equipment of a large research institution. Our students don't just read about math and science discoveries in the classroom, they take advantage of our multi-million dollar undergraduate research facilities and close faculty interactions to make their own research discoveries. Why pay over $20,000 a year to attend a private school when you can have access to superior facilities at a fraction of the cost?If you are a serious student wanting the best education possible, you owe it to yourself to check out our department. Whether your goal is to be a mathematician, doctor, astronaut, teacher, or almost any other field, you will find a program in our department that can help you achieve your goal.
Scholarships and Other Financial Support
TSU offers competative academic scholarships at the Department, College, and University level including Tarleton's four year $28,000 Presidential Honor Scholarships. Annually, our department ranks among the top in terms of scholarship winners. In addition, many of our students obtain additional financial support working as grades, tutors, lab assistants, and research assistants. Many of our students also obtain additional support in the summer through internships with our industrial partners, the national laboratories, and NSF funded REU sites.
